Yunnan's second-largest highland lake (268 sq km). A 120km scenic road circles the lake with breathtaking views of Cangshan Mountains. Best done by electric bike (ยฅ60-80/day) or regular bicycle. Stop at Fisherman's Wharf, Shuangqiao Old Town, and small fishing villages along the way.
Well-preserved Bai village 30km north of Dali. Famous for its traditional courtyard homes, the largest of which is the Zhou's Family Mansion (ๅจๅฎถๅคง้ข). Try "Bai three-course meal" (็ฝๆไธ้่) and learn about Bai tea ceremonies. Much less touristy than Dali Old Town.
Part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, rising to 4,122 meters. Take theๆ้็ดข้ (Guantong Cable Car) for stunning views, or hike the 15km ridge trail for the full experience. Ancient temples hidden in the forest. Weather changes quickly โ bring layers and rain gear.

Fresh fish from Erhai Lake, typically served steamed with pickled vegetables or in hot pot. The fish is tender and sweet. Head to restaurants along the lake or at Fisherman's Wharf for the freshest catch.
Legend says the noodles are so tough they can only be cut with a knife. Hand-pulled noodles served in rich broth with cilantro, chili, and pickled vegetables. A Dali breakfast staple.
